Employees of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) protested against the government’s proposal to privatise the important airports of the nation on Thursday by donning black armbands at Jinnah International Airport Karachi.

In an effort to increase foreign exchange reserves, the government has started to outsource operations and land assets at three significant airports, including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.

Employees of CAA protested today at the airport in Karachi, and they have also requested a demonstration on August 8 in Islamabad.

The demonstrators brandished banners and posters while yelling anti-outsourcing and decision-recall chants.

They contend that outsourcing airport operations to outside parties puts the nation’s infrastructure for security and defence at danger.

An organisation spokesperson emphasised during the rally that “outsourcing airports is a dangerous move that puts our national security at risk.” “The security and independence of our airports and our nation cannot be compromised.

The protesters vowed to use all available means, including closing down the business, if the outsourcing process is not stopped.

The demonstrators insisted that the outsourcing of airports must stop right away since it is not only bad for the wellbeing of aviation personnel but also creates serious security dangers.
