women’s SAFF Championship::
India has excelled in each of the first five seasons of the women’s SAFF Championship. In the first competition, held in Dhaka in 2010, they scored 50 goals from five matches without giving up a goal. The Indian women’s soccer team defeated Nepal in the championship game by a slim margin of 1-0.
In the second edition, India was also at their most aggressive. In the final, which India won 3-1, they scored 33 goals while giving up just one, an early goal against Nepal.

Other teams’ performances kept becoming better, but India’s quality remained unrivalled. In the championship match in 2014, they destroyed Nepal 6-0, and in 2016, they defeated Bangladesh’s first-time finalists 3-1.
In the 2019 championship, India defeated Nepal for the fourth time.
Both Nepal and Bangladesh defeated India once each in the competition’s 2022 iteration, and they faced off in the championship game. Bangladesh won the match 3-1, continuing to torment Nepal for their dreadful performance in the final.
