Sarfaraz Ahmed’s::
Rashid Latif, a former Pakistan cricketer, is dissatisfied with the selection of wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan as the team’s vice-captain for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.
Beginning the next month, Pakistan will play Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series. Babar Azam will be the captain of the 16-player team that the Pakistan Cricket Board has announced for the series. Shaheen Afridi, their star bowler, will be making his return to the Test team after a one-year absence, which has raised controversy over the squad’s announcement. Rashid Latif, a former Pakistan cricketer, was dissatisfied by the selection of wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan as the team’s vice-captain since, in his opinion, senior player Sarfaraz Ahmed was more deserving of the post.
Sarfaraz’s comeback during the series against New Zealand, when he had taken Rizwan’s spot in the Playing XI and won Player of the Series, was discussed by Latif.

“The PCB might have chosen Sarfaraz the vice-captain for this trip because of the type of player he is. He is competent. He returned after Rizwan’s deterioration in performance. Sarfaraz will be in the starting XI because of his prior performance. So it is not reasonable to keep Rizwan as vice-captain, Latif stated on his YouTube channel.
“In my opinion, Babar ought to lead all teams. Make him the vice captain, but avoid doing anyone any favours. Sarfaraz is the only guy who deserves to be in a leadership position during Tests, he continued.
Notably, in the two-match Test series against New Zealand earlier this year, Sarfaraz scored 335 runs. His finest performance was 118 runs off 176 balls, and he won Player of the Series for it.
Morne Morkel, a former South African pacer, was also named the bowling coach, according to a PCB announcement. A six-month deal has been inked by the former South African quick.
The 16-member team will play two Test matches in Sri Lanka to open Pakistan’s third ICC World Test Championship cycle. Babar Azam will serve as the team’s captain.
The return of towering left-arm bowler and lynchpin of Pakistan’s bowling attack Shahid Afridi, who hasn’t played any Test cricket since July of last year due to a knee injury, was wonderful news for Pakistan. Shaheen last played for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup final against England in October. He had a knee injury in his previous Test game, which was also in Sri Lanka in July.
